What an adorable charming little hidden gem. We happen to find this place and it was my birthday! What a wonderful lunch we had and loved the ambience. We have to decided to go back for dinner and have the tiramisu!!
Food was very good! Service was friendly and pretty quick. Cute building with ample seating, although a bit tight.
I definitely get why my in-laws kept this little gem a secret...they didn't want to have to bring my kids!! I had no idea there was such an elegant, upscale dining option in Round Top. As I said, the atmosphere is definitely not kid-friendly; unless your kid is a well-behaved robot they'll disturb other diners revelling in the tranquility of the charm of old Italy reverberating through the walls. The decor is stunning, yet simple and sophisticated, and the wait staff were some of the best I've ever met. The menu offers the usual fare common at nicer italian places, with a few surprises. I ordered the Radiatore Cacio e Pepe. I'd been wanting to try cacio e pepe, but had never heard of radiatore, "radiator"-shaped pasta. It was an excellent dish, though I do wish I'd taken the server's suggestion to add meatballs, as I felt it really needed a protein to perfect it. The Lady Cello drink was superb, and my mother-in-laws' short rib was excellent as well, though not the best I've had. Tiramisu was good, and a nice sized portion. Overall, Lulu's offered dishes that were only a touch below my favorites in the big city. So glad I know about this quaint little gem tucked away in little old Round Top. Definitely THE place to go for a date or other nice occasion.
Hubby and I had lunch today at Lulu's during our little trip to Round Top, Texas. This is the original location and it's super cute inside. Lots of seating with a bar area and another little drinking area downstairs. The brunch menu didn't have a good variety of food to choose from, but we were able to get a nice arugula salad and pappardelle bolognese. You can get bread service for a small price and it comes with a few different types of focaccia bread. Our waitress was super friendly and nice to talk to. I would have liked to see more pasta options on the menu, but maybe that's only for dinner.
This is becoming one of our favorites places Strongly recommend the bread service and The short ribs and the Italian margarita The service was great today. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio which even in Texas was comfortable We'll be back
Came here for my office end of the year party. They have great space for large parties in the cellar. The waitress recommended the bolognese and half of our table got it. It was so good. It had a Texas twist with the meat. Highly recommend. The Sicilian Joe drink was very delightful. It was sweeter than I expected but I loved it! I didn't care for the tiramisu, it was a bit dry. Also there were sugar ants all over our table lol. A solid choice in round top!
